Liverpool have unveiled their new third kit for the 2019/20 season, which the club says is ‘inspired by the city’.
The bold shirt is mostly designed in ‘phantom black’, with the club crest in ‘vibrant tidepool’ – a colour apparently inspired by the liver birds atop the Liver Building – with the all-over graphic on the front supposed to pay homage to the shape of Liverpool’s street signs.
The new strip will be seen on the players for the first time during their pre-season clash against Sevilla in Boston on Sunday.
In recent weeks, top-flight teams have been creatively unveiling their uniforms as the new campaign approaches.
Arsenal have revealed fresh new home and away shirts as they returned to former sponsor Adidas, with the return of their famous retro ‘bruised banana’ proving a huge hit with supporters, as well as classy red and white home kit.
We had already seen a handful of Premier League sides, such as Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Tottenham show off their new strips, while leaks of other jerseys have been doing the rounds on social media and sites like FootyHeadlines.com.
