Harry Maguire reportedly has his eyes on the captain’s armband at Manchester United.
The Leicester City defender is currently the subject of advanced negotiations with the Old Trafford giants, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side continue to pursue his signature.
Despite United leading the race, Man City are also interested in Maguire with the two bitter rivals understood to be battling for the £80million+ transfer.
According to SunSport, the 26-year-old believes he has the correct temperament to captain one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Although he knows he would obviously not claim the United armband straight away after arriving, it’s claimed Maguire has long-term goals to lead one of the world’s biggest sides.
As things stand he’s still a Foxes man and will remain this way unless Brendan Rodgers’ side can agree terms with a Manchester club.
Rodgers previously told talkSPORT: “Harry is a top class player and of course this has attracted interest, with two bids coming in.
“But they are nowhere near to meeting the valuation of the club. Harry is relaxed about it, we are, he’s been absolutely brilliant…
“I know there has been a lot of noise from third parties and what not. Listen, any conversation with me and a player would be private really.
“But I respect and understand if the teams like Manchester City or Manchester United are interested.
“I have worked at that level with Liverpool and I understand what the attraction can be for a player to go to one of those clubs.

“But like I say, we are all pretty relaxed because until the valuation is met, then there is not really a decision.”
